If you mean the SGH-F480 against the Tocco Lite, the the Lite has a smaller screen size smaller camera etc.

This camera uses an SD memory card, you don't say what type of memory card your San Disk card is so I can't tell you if it will work or not.
If it's a small, thin rectangle and says 'SD' on the bottom left then it will work with your camera. If its a square and says 'CF' then it will not work.

Yes the 58 mm adapter may be a better choice if you can find a 72 mm to 58 mm step-down ring, however you will experience a lot of vignetting. Fisheye add-on lenses are really designed for use on lenses like the Canon 18-55 mm lens lengths and they have a 58 mm filter thread
Your 40D is a fine better than entry level DSLR. I would think you would prefer to save your pennies and buy a proper lens which can give you "fisheye" results like the Tokina 10-17 mm fisheye zoom

This is typically a problem with the toner cartridge. If you haven't already, you should replace the toner cartridge. If that doesn't fix it, then it's a more serious problem with the printer and you should look into professional repair or replacing it.
